I saw this on Hack Games Longplay! I thought it was interesting! I wish you all the best and hope one day when your skills get better that you'll remake this game using the same ideas and improve upon the story!
Thanks so much! It was based on my first demo for PC from 10 years ago ,which was better imo using game maker. Using newsmaker for this game was a whole nother story though.... I will say that it's almost glitchless on average, which is where most of my time was spent, workarounds for a halfmade program... Nesmaker is a good tool, but janky beyond jank, but still helped me make this game with dale_coop and the communities help ,and I appreciate that. It was a struggle though. And as for the character,no nesmaker game at the time had a functioning character like that with the kneeling with the sword, and how it properly follows you no matter what you do all combined with how she could move and turn and everything worked fine. I know that sounds like it should be able to be inherently done with nesmaker, most things I did weren't though. I learned to write code for Nintendo games within 7 months while making this game. But I cut myself off at a point, Then refined things sometime after. The music, sound fx,and graphics were all specific choices,I could have easily had MegaMan music and Metroid graphics, but wanted a much simpler Athena/madoola feel. Kind of a nod to those gal games of the past, like Lum no wedding... the gameplay is more meatboy/battlekid though. Infinite lives and easy resets. No stopping, which is why I didn't want a ton of sound fx and a n annoying death noise. I wanted the music to drive you or atleast let you concentrate on the game itself. It's rng heavy, and that can be deadly! Anyway, today's nesmaker , mostly because of the community,is doing greater things though. Check out panzer 3 currently in development . Now there's a great nesmaker game. Thanks so much for your kind words and support! Please download and play any of my games for freeeee!
